Well thats a lie Ill still keep it partitioned in. My buddy told me to try ubuntu so ive been reading every blog you have to make sure i got a grasp on things before i do the go ahead with everything. My buddy told me with the turion64 to use the 64-bit version but after reading comments left in different sections im confused. Seems like you know a whole lot about this so i am going to ask your advice. Do you recommend me using 64-bit or standard personal computer version?

Thanx
ScottScott Yeohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17169512016083369093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876560611515310173.post-29795973577483426802007-07-18T10:01:00.000-05:002007-07-18T10:01:00.000-05:002007-07-18T10:01:00.000-05:00First, I wanted to thank you for this blog. I was a complete linux newbie when I started out a few months ago and thanks to this blog I've been able to configure my 1501 exactly how I wanted.

I also wanted to give back a little and let you know that compiz-fusion is now out and is available through trevinos repository. Instructions on how to install it can be found here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=481314

I've been using it for a few days now and it's relatively stable. There ARE a few glitches, but no more than what I experienced with Beryl. It does everything Beryl does plus more (Compiz fusion is a merger of compiz and beryl). It also runs on XGL!!

If you use emerald you have to upgrade to the latest version (0.3.0) in order to get it to work with compiz (although it works fine without emerald installed).

The only extra step I would add to the how-to is to create a launcher for the command to launch it. It's definately worthwhile checking it out. I'm really pleased with how it's operating on my machine.

Thanks again!Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04352110971932862552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876560611515310173.post-54772420165722769062007-07-13T21:24:00.000-05:002007-07-13T21:24:00.000-05:002007-07-13T21:24:00.000-05:00yeah wide screen works, if it didn't you'd see a g...yeah wide screen works, if it didn't you'd see a guide on how to get it to work.redDEADhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07778199165854076395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876560611515310173.post-65009092378271149722007-07-13T21:17:00.000-05:002007-07-13T21:17:00.000-05:002007-07-13T21:17:00.000-05:00what about the widescreen? does it work correctly ...what about the widescreen? does it work correctly without any special config?Marcelohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10161311821946744484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876560611515310173.post-18866313508549451432007-07-10T11:34:00.000-05:002007-07-10T11:34:00.000-05:002007-07-10T11:34:00.000-05:00Killer blog!
