So far so good and everything works as you have explained on your blog.

Therefore,a big thanks and a small token of my appreciation to you my friend. Please keep up the good work and Viva Linux and may ubuntu go from strength to strength.

Thank you from London, UKNatashehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11082337104768384729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876560611515310173.post-33905001178174901002008-03-03T11:12:00.000-06:002008-03-03T11:12:00.000-06:002008-03-03T11:12:00.000-06:00if suspend worked and hibernation worked with s2di...if suspend worked and hibernation worked with s2disk or s2both, see this link to make s2disk your default hibernation in gnome and gdm

http://blog.paulbetts.org/index.php/2007/02/11/fixing-software-suspend-hibernate-with-uswsusp-in-ubuntu-feisty-and-edgy/Marcelohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10161311821946744484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876560611515310173.post-38392784116468774252008-03-03T10:36:00.000-06:002008-03-03T10:36:00.000-06:002008-03-03T10:36:00.000-06:00with Envy now suspend is working but hibernate sti...with Envy now suspend is working but hibernate still not working

thanks Ken and Reddead for thisMarcelohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10161311821946744484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876560611515310173.post-56879696378175131512008-02-17T03:29:00.000-06:002008-02-17T03:29:00.000-06:002008-02-17T03:29:00.000-06:00This may come out silly but I still have to share....This may come out silly but I still have to share. I tried installing for nearly 4 hours using original and alternate versions of Ubuntu 7.10 downloads burnt to a CD-RW. Eventually, re-downloading from a different mirror and burning to a CD-R did the trick. Still don't know which one did it but I'm not sure using an RW was a good choice to begin with. Either way, 20 minutes from now, I'll follow your post for my E1505. Suspend and hibernate are now working on my 1501!

The Envy for the driver can be found here:

http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html

Once you install it and reboot, compiz will be broken. You just have to open up a terminal and type
sudo gedit /usr/bin/compiz

then:
"change lines 30 and 31 to:
COMPIZ_BIN_PATH="/usr/bin/" # For window decorators and compiz
PLUGIN_PATH="/usr/lib/compiz/"

and then a few lines down, change to:
COMPIZ_NAME="compiz.real" # Final name for compiz (compiz.real)"

(found this info here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=585252)

Suspend for me works as it should. Hibernate didn't work via gnome power management, but does work with s2disk and s2both. I've done some tweaking to my hibernate settings so that may be the reason. Don't know.

Enjoy!Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04352110971932862552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876560611515310173.post-21200141143789380862007-12-12T09:06:00.000-06:002007-12-12T09:06:00.000-06:002007-12-12T09:06:00.000-06:00Thanks for your blog!
