It never has ran anything else. The first time it was powered on was to format the dive and wipe out the restore/Dell partition.<BR/><BR/>I honestly don't even know where the Dell restore CD is. Because the new drive is a little noisier than the old, I was able to hear it constantly spinning up and down while on battery power. This is a built-in "feature" that otherwise goes unnoticed and causes serious damage to the hard drive.<BR/><BR/>A better explanation and the fix can be found here.
